You probably haven’t heard of Dan Trachtenberg unless you’ve seen his short film, Portal: No Escapeor followed news of him directing the mysterious Bad Robot project Valencia. As we all learned two months agoValencia was actually the codename for 10 Cloverfield Lane, a secret film related to the 2008 monster movie Cloverfield.

Trachtenberg told us how “brutal” it was to be sworn to secrecy about his very first movie, which he’s finally able to talk about. In the film, Mary Elizabeth Winstead‘s Michelle wakes up in a fall-out shelter to find her leg chained to a cell. She meets the doomsday prepper Howard, played by John Goodman, who tells her an attack has happened above ground. While the director made sure not to leak any spoilers, he did point out a couple easter eggs Cloverfield fans can look out for. And if you’re hoping for a third movie in the Clover-verse, so is Trachtenberg. (Fingers crossed for that God Particle theory.)

10 Cloverfield Lane opens March 11.
