Looks like the 10th annual Minnesota Hockey Day is coming to Bayfront in Duluth for 2016.

The Statewide Holiday is set to have Denfeld and  East High School as the two host teams with their opponents still being determined. Hockey Day's schedule is usually the two Duluth boys games are played and sometimes a girls high school game, then a Golden Gophers game at Marricui and ending with a Wild game at the Xcel. The Bulldogs will even be playing that day at the Amsoil.

The rink will be built right in front of the performance stage at Bayfront with the Heritage playing as backup in case Duluth's Bi-polar weather decides to act up. According to an article from the Duluth News Tribune an official announcement from FSN and the Wild is expected later this month.

I for one am all for this. I grew up in a hockey family who lives, eats, and breathe hockey so I'm definitely excited. Plus it'll be great for the Twin Ports to get all this extra exposure. Let me know what you think of Minnesota Hockey Day being held in Duluth in the comments below.
