13 Year Old New York Boy Crowned Spelling Bee Champion [VIDEO]

Are you smarter than an 8th grader? Probably not If you are going up against Arvind Mahankali, this years Spelling Bee Champ.

We all have memories of standing up in front of the class and going through a round of spelling bee competition. I always loved it because it did not involve Math. :) Of course on a much grander scale is the Annual National Competition, which actually had a Minnesota girl rounding out the top 15.

Poor Cooper got put on the spot this morning on the air as I asked him to spell that exact word KNAIDEL...his spelling of it  NADAL.... with the silent K and my mis- pronunciation did not help matters. Congrats Arvind you are now $30,000 richer and have a big cup trophy. Time to head home and read the dictionary to prepare for next year!
