Best Dressed at the 2013 Emmys
It was “anything goes” on the star-studded, dripping-with-couture red carpet at the 65th annual Emmys (Sept. 22). The carpet teemed with some of the prettiest, fanciest dresses, yet there were just as many subdued but stylish frocks. There were full skirts, bright colors, neutrals, column shapes and more. We did notice a lot of updos, too. But the only constant was that the celebs marched to the beat of their own fashionistas.
Here’s the StarCrush rundown of who was dressed best at the 2013 Emmy Awards.
The ‘Big Bang Theory’ actress was divine in a maroon Pamella Rowland gown with a full, tulle-like skirt. Notice the sheerness of the abdomen? It was a subtle touch of sexy. If we didn’t point it out, you might have missed it.
The actress (and new mom) wore a white, confectionary gown with a fluffy, femme and fussy train. Yes, it could have doubled as a wedding dress, and we can see fashion snobs rolling their eyes at this bridal-like choice. But it was perfect for her.
We’re used to seeing the ‘Glee’ star as Sue Sylvester in her tracksuits on the small screen. But Lynch, known for utilitarian wear, wore a black suit that was beyond flattering, especially how the pants hit at the ankle. Bonus points for the clutch, too. The chic, classic outfit was totally “her”!
The country singer, usually a sure bet to wow at any red carpet on which she steps, didn’t disappoint in a strapless, royal purple gown by Ramon Keveza. It was voluminous, but it didn’t swallow her whole. It was simple, and we love the black sash.
The potty-mouthed comedienne was va-va-va-voom in a slinky, body con LBD. Paired with platform black heels, she turned head after head. It wasn’t as fancy as most of the other dresses, but it was oh-so-Sarah.
Of course the voluptuous Latin goddess wore red! Her crimson, figure-hugging, mermaid-shaped Vera Wang gown was hotter than lava. Vergara has a body to die for, and when she pours it into a scarlet gown, we melt.
The curvy ‘Mad Men’ redhead wore slimming black. It was clingy and highlighted her copious curves, letting women the world over see that the curviest gals can be stylish and sophisticated. Fashion is not reserved for model-thin gals… at all!
Having just been named one of the best dressed women in the world by People, the ‘Scandal’ star proved why she earned that accolade with her frilly, semi-deconstructed ivory gown with a train and empire waist. It was utterly romantic.
The bra-free Danes meshed old Hollywood glam with the present, thanks to that daring dip in the bodice of her Armani Prive dress. The fabric was chic, preventing that double sideboob from appearing vulgar.
