While rain loomed as a possibility in the forecast for the 2017 Duluth Air and Aviation Expo, the sky cooperated as hundreds were captivated by aerial spectacles and ground displays. Headlining this year's show were the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, who capped off festivities on both Saturday and Sunday. Other performers this year included the F-35 “Lightning”, Jack Links "Screamin' Sasquatch" jet-assist Waco plane, Shockwave Jet Truck, B-25 "Miss Mitchell", a B-52 flyover, and many others.

Fans of the Air Show were excited to find out that they can mark their calendars for next year. As the Duluth News Tribune reported, the 2018 Duluth Air Show is already being planned for July 7-8. The 2018 show will feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, who were also in Duluth in 2016. While the Air Show has traditionally been an every-other-year event, the announcement of the 2018 show makes for three years in a row fans are able to enjoy the event.
