It's the season of giving and a lot of people need help. Have some extra money and want to donate? Check out these Duluth area families that need some extra help.

Sometimes life takes unexpected turns and you need help. Setting up GoFundMe pages are nice way to get donations. I searched Duluth, MN and there over 19,000 pages setup. I picked the first five on the search to get the conversation going.

  • Our Niece Ella Needs Her Village

Ella is 10, and was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) on October 17, 2016. Her family set up the page because Ella is enrolled in a Clinical Trial/Research Study that may or may not be covered by insurance. The money they are raising will go towards medical costs not covered by insurance, travel to and from Duluth until they get a place, and help them with moving expenses, finding a place, groceries, diapers, etc. until they can get their feet firmly squared away in Duluth. You can donate to her page here.

  • House Fire

On September 8tha Two Harbors family's house went up in flames. Everything is a total loss and The are in need of help to get back on their feet. Financial donations would help with them finding a new place to live and buying new clothing, shoes, etc. They would appreciate donations of clothing as well. Donate to their page here.

  • Katie's GoFundMe

Two years ago Katie was planning on reentering the workforce after being a stay-at-home mom, and had accepted a new job.  Her husband, Craig, resigned from his job in November and was going to stay at home with our three children.  In the weeks leading up to my start date, she began experiencing vision problems, sensitivity to sound and light, and loss of short-term memory.  she was unable to drive, care for her children and go to work. After many trips to the ER and seeing specialist after specialist, they are still trying to fiigure out what's causing the symptons. With Katie and Craig out of work and medical expenses piling up, they are looking for help. You can check out her page and donate here.
