There is now a fun new place for kids in the Hermantown community to play. Located at Hermantown Elementary, the playground is ready to be played on.

The new playground replaced older and outdated equipment that was no longer needed for the elementary school. The new design also will also suit the needs of every child in the area included those that have special needs.

The Hermantown Playground Initiative started a fundraising campaign back in 2015 to have the playground replaced and they reached their goal of $206,000 this past May. The Initiative was made up of Hermantown families, school faculty, community members and businesses. Approximately 200 volunteers helped with the community build of the new playground.

I absolutely love it when a community comes together. The school is located at 5365 West Arrowhead Road and the playground can be found on the northeast side of the school. Check out the video up above and see the full story from our friends at WDIO.
