It would beyond make sense for Little Mix to open for One Direction on the boys' upcoming Where We Are Tour. But will the 'Little' ladies join the lads on the wide open road this year?

Sadly and regrettably, the answer is "no."

While both bands got their start on the British edition of 'X Factor' and share similar audiences, not to mention the fact that Little Mix's Perrie Edwards is engaged to 1D's Zayn Malik, they can't make it work. But for practical reasons, actually.

Despite the rampant rumors that the ladies would join 1D on a trek, Edwards herself confirmed to Stitched Sound that it's not happening. She and her groupmates looked bummed about it, too!

"Even we were like 'We're touring with 1D?' [Jesy Nelson] went, 'Will you ask Zayn?' and I was like 'Yeah, I'll find out,'" the blonde beauty admitted in the video interview, posted above. "And when I found out we weren't doing it, I was like, 'Oh, never mind.'"

Nelson admitted, "It was in talks, but our schedules clashed."

Damn those clashing schedules. Boo! Hiss! But how about we create our own bright side to look at and think about the future? Perhaps some other time, 1D and Little Mix will coordinate their schedules and tour together. We can dream, can't we?

The ladies do want to widen their fanbase in America, which is good news for Mixers.

Be sure to watch the whole interview -- it's short -- since Miss Perrie also recounted an adorably embarrassing story of Little Mix's 'Move' blasting while she was shopping at Victoria's Secret, one of her fave stores!

These ladies are so fab, stylish and cute. We lurve 'em.
