Taylor Swift recently stopped by the French Canadian show, 'Tout le Monde en Parle,' where she talked about everything from her new, pop sound to her views on feminism. The interview was so intriguing and wide-ranging that we couldn't help but honor 10 highlights from the discussion.

Here are 10 things we learned from Taylor Swift's interview.

1. She told the country music community that '1989' was going to be a pop album.

"Out of respect for the country music community, who I love and adore, I felt it was best to just be honest with them about what the album was," Taylor explained, "and just be very, very truthful about the fact that is a pop album."

2. But her songwriting will always have that style of a "lyrical journey."

"That is a part of my songwriting that is never going to leave," Taylor explained. "…I'm never going to want to stop telling a story with my music."

3. In fact, she was originally signed to a label as a songwriter.

4. When she was a kid, she drew her dad as a "businessman" snowman.

"He was holding up a chart with, like, a graph on it, and it had a thought bubble that said, 'Stocks went up five points today.'"

5. And on that note, she used to tell people when she grew up she wanted to be a stockbroker.

"I didn't necessarily know what that meant, but I just heard my dad talk about it so much," she revealed. "And then I discovered music, and all bets were off."

6. When she was getting her career started in Nashville as a teenager, she had to convince labels that people wanted to hear country music from a young teen girl.

"It took years and years," T. Swift said. "… I started my career in Nashville as a staff-songwriter, and I kind of worked my way in the back way."

7. She's turned her pain into Grammys.

"Not to say that I'm happy to experience pain because it equals Grammys," Taylor joked, "But kind of."

8. She is a huge supporter of Emma Watson's UN speech.

"I wish when I was 12 years old, I had been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful poignant way the definition of feminism," Taylor said. "Because I would have understood it and then earlier on in my life I would have proudly claimed that I was a feminist."

9. She's not about to tell other female artists how to act.

"Honestly, I cheer on anybody who is living their life on their own terms and wearing what they want to wear and representing what they want to represent," Taylor explained. "… As long as its their idea, and they're expressing their sexuality … or their strength or it makes them feel like a woman to perform a certain way or dress a certain way, as long as its coming from them and they're living their life on their own terms, I cheer them on."

10. She had no idea that one day she'd touch people the way she has.

"I did not expect for girls to connect with my music the way they have," Taylor explained. "And guys, and people who have completely different lives than mine, who live in countries that I've never been to before. That's the most exciting thing in the world to me."
