Best Places in Duluth for a Kid’s Birthday Party – Our Top Ten
Some of the fondest memories a kid can have are created at the Birthday party. When planning a kids birthday party you’ll have a lot of options and things to decide like, a theme, a location, guest list, food, party favors and more. Let’s break down what we think are the Top 10 places to have a kids birthday party in Duluth.
World Of Wheels Skate Center
World of Wheels Skate Center in Superior offers a few different Birthday packages starting at $74.95 which includes admission and skate rental for 8 kids and some extras, including pop, reserved tables, a special t-shirt for the Birthday Boy or Girl plus they’ll announce their name and play them the Birthday song. They also offer add-ons like pizza, party favors and more.
A retro theme with fun tie-dye decorations and favors and maybe a tie-die cake to go along with it. Request some fun 80′s-90′s and skate the day away.
One of the most popular places in Duluth to bring the kids for a Birthday party is Adventure Zone in Canal Park. Mainly because of all the things there are to do, from video games, laser tag, mini golf and more. They offer different packages starting at $8.95 per kid including pizza and pop.
Go with the unlimited laser tag for each kid and do a Star Wars theme. Give away little Star Wars favors to the highest score each game.
Lake Superior Zoo
Everyone loves animals and the biggest collection of them in Duluth is the Lake Superior zoo and they offer a scavenger hunt, party favors and a special gift for the birthday child and more, all in a decorated area. They also offer special animal encounters for your party for a fee.
We are going the obvious route with this suggestion, a Safari. Have the kids wear some fun masks, play pin the tail on the lion. Look for some African animal postcards on eBay to use as invitations.
Park Point Beach
Now this pick won’t work about 9 months out of the year, but those that have summer Birthdays can enjoy park point beach and park. Plan some games for the kids, there is plenty of room for any activity you can think of. The beach house is also available for rent, just in case the weather takes a turn for the worse.
A pirate theme might be fun here. You’ll have plenty of sand to bury a treasure chest like this one we found on Etsy for the kids to find with a map you provide.
The North Shore Scenic Railroad
How about the Birthday caboose? The North Shore Scenic Railroad offers what we think is the most unique Birthday party location in Duluth, in a actual train caboose on a round trip, 90-minute scenic excursion for up to eight children and two adults with cupcakes and admission to the railroad museum.
Obviously a train theme would work great here, we even found a website that specializes in the train theme, TrainParty.com, it can supply all your needs, including this great pinata.
Great Lakes Aquarium
The Great Lakes Aquarium offers kids Birthday parties with the fishes. You’ll get a private decorated party room, party favors for everyone and a fun scavenger hunt. This is a great all year location, it’s always 70 degrees and the kids will have a blast.
A ‘Under the Sea’ theme might be fun here, you could either take the Disney route with Nemo or the Little Mermaid or maybe a Shark theme might be fun. Either way these fun invites on Etsy will work swimmingly.
It’s tropical all year round inside the Edgewater Resort. Kids and adults will have a great time with a party among waterslides, a lazy river and special splash area for the smaller kids. The Edge offers party packages depending on the age of the kids, prices start at $175 for 6 kids/teens & 4 adults for a full day of fun.
The Tiki theme is built in to this location but we did find this fun Tiki Hulu autograph monkey for all the guests to sign. Get one for every kid and they all take home a very personal party favor.
The Pottery Burn
Have a creative, fun and artsy Birthday party at the Pottery Burn. Here the kids will be able to paint bisque bowls, mugs, ornaments or many other things. They’ll provide the paint and supplies and best of all will clean up the mess. The great thing is all the kids walk away with a handmade memory.
Do a “Favorite Color” theme and encourage the guests of the party to dress head to toe in their favorite color.
Duluth Children’s Museum
This fun Birthday location will not only entertain the kids but they may leave actually learning something, the Duluth Children’s Museum provides a private party room with lots of activity’s and exhibits to keep the kids busy. The birthday child will also get a crown and special gift.
“Rockets and Robots”would be a unique theme for this location, here are some great robot and rockets supplies. Have the kids do a “Robot Dance” contest.
Skyline Lanes offers a great kids Birthday party package that includes bowling, pizza, game tokens and a visit by the Skyline mascot “Davey the Dinosaur”. The price is less than $11 per kid and that includes the shoe rental.
Since the Skyline mascot is a dinosaur, that would be a great theme to go with! Print off some dinosaur pictures and have a “Name the Dino” contest with the kids for some fun small dino prizes. Or maybe stuff the awesome dinosaur pinata and let the kids swing away.
