According to a report from WDIO changes are in the works for Mesaba Avenue where it meets up with 35W.

Currently If you are heading west on Superior street you have to scoot across the traffic on Mesaba Avenue which can make it very dangerous. The plan is to change the current one way bridge to a two way bridge, so the cars traveling west on Superior street will then travel over the top of the traffic on Mesaba Avenue.

Brian Larson, who is from MNDOT and the  District 1 Project Manager said that  the project will affect traffic but asks for people to be patient during the project. More improvements are planned for Mesaba Avenue all the way up to Central Entrance. The project is still in the design phase, but they are hoping that it will start the summer of 2018 and be completed by the Fall of 2018.
