According to the Duluth News Tribune the Duluth Younkers property is now for sale as part of the bankrupt Bon-Ton chain of stores. The Miller Hill anchor property is 161,000 square feet making it one of the largest that the company owns. This leaves quite a large footprint to fill at the mall and I think I have the perfect solution.

If the decision was up to me I would love to see a Big Lot's store go in it's place. If you are not familiar with them they carry items for Outdoor living, Furniture, Mattresses,  Items for your home,  Electronics & Office,  Toys, Food, Household, Pets and more.

The best part of Big Lots is you don't need a membership to join and they have a great rewards program too. They have quite the variety of items for sale, but if you are looking for things for your home this is a great place to shop. They have price comparisons for some items so you see how much you save as well.

You can save even more with their rewards program, it is FREE to sign up but is not required. Some of the rewards include:

  • VIP Shopping Days
  • Buy More Save More Coupons
  • Birthday Surprise and More
Like many types of stores they specialize in certain items, so If you happen to be looking for that one specific thing, the prices are very competitive. Again Younkers is a big store to fill, but I think this would be a great choice. Big Lot's Website
