Britney Spears, Demi Lovato + ‘X Factor’ Judges Cover TV Guide
Yes, TV Guide still prints and the issue that lands Aug. 23 features the revamped crew of ‘X Factor‘ judges, with all eyes on Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, aka the newbies!
According to FOX, there are some changes to Season 2, besides the new judges. To emphasize the youth of the show, the Over-30s categories has been downsized to ages 25 and up. They will compete with the groups and two TBD categories. So it might not be boys and girls like last year. Clearly, Season 2 is a work in progress and the judge’s panel wasn’t the only thing to get a makeover.
Brit shared how Simon Cowell, who looks to make Season 2 “event television,” offered her the gig, revealing it all had to do with makeup, saying, “He was absolutely adorable on the phone, and he is so sweet. My makeup artist used to do his makeup, and we were joking around about me doing it. So I guess it was one of those meant-to-be things.”
Lovato took the job to be a voice for her age group. She said, “I really feel like being the first young judge on any of these vocal competition shows is a lot of pressure, but at the same time, it’s great because I get to bring in a perspective from the audience that’s around my age.”
The ‘Give Your Heart a Break’ singer admitted to having less experience than Brit Brit and co., “but I know how hard people have to work to get to where they want to be, and I can spot somebody who has talent and who’s memorable and could be a pop star.”
Spears concurred that Lovato is a good judge “who toughens me up! Sometimes I listen to you and I’m like, ‘Oh, God, I’ve got to be a little stronger.’” Cowell went as far as to say that the girls have made he and L.A. Reid sound like “the nice, sweet ones.”
Now that’s a miracle!
Other love fest comments were Demi saying how funny Brit is, while Brit said Demi is sophisticated and “cooler than me,”
Strap yourselves in viewers. Season 2 is going to be good! It just has to be.
