Carly Rae Jepsen had the biggest song of the summer of 2012 in America with 'Call Me Maybe,' but clearly, the song's reach extended beyond the U.S., as the Canadian singer picked up the 2012 MTV EMA for 'Best Song.'

No shock there, since the song was so popular it launched a thousand parodies. Or at least it felt like that many, since new ones turned up online on a daily basis.

Jepsen, wearing a long, silvery white gown, took the stage to accept her statue, saying, "I was not expecting this. Thank you so, so much," adding "this thing is heavy" about the new hardware that will soon sit on her mantlepiece. We half-expected her to quote her own song and say, "This is crazy" about her big EMA win.

During her short acceptance speech, Jepsen thanked Justin Bieber second -- their mutual manager Scooter Braun was first. The Biebs heard the song in Canada and was instrumental in helping CRJ garner attention in the States. She stammered a little as she thanked her fans before leaving the stage. It was, like most things CRJ does, super cute.

Congrats to Carly Rae Jepsen on picking up the 2012 EMA for 'Best Song.'
