Catherine Hicks Open to ‘7th Heaven’ Reunion If Stephen Collins’ Character Dies
Actress Catherine Hicks -- who played Annie Camden on the now-defunct television show 7th Heaven -- recently admitted she’d be completely onboard for a hypothetical reunion show, with one key caveat: Stephen Collins’ character, Reverend Eric Camden, has to be killed off.
“I don’t know. I mean, we’d have to open with Stephen’s coffin,” Hicks joked today (September 26) when TMZ asked her whether the cast would ever be open to the idea of a possible 7th Heaven reboot or reunion special a la Fuller House or Girl Meets World.
“It’s all up to the networks and those types of things. I think we’d all love to be together,” she continued. “Eighth Heaven, with a new boyfriend for Annie.”
While she didn't mention specifics, Hicks’ comments likely stem from the revelation that Collins had sexually abused three underage girls over a 20 year span, between 1973 and 1994. Back in 2014, TMZ obtained and posted audio of the actor's confession, which was recorded without his knowledge during a 2012 therapy session he had with his estranged wife, Faye Grant.
At the time, Grant told E! News she “had no involvement whatsoever” with leaking the tape to TMZ, saying, “I woke up today to learn that an extremely private recording I handed over to the authorities in 2012 per their request in connection with a criminal investigation was recently disseminated to the press."
