The popular Downtown Minneapolis concert venue and nightclub First Avenue was evacuated Wednesday night due to a portion of the ceiling collapsing. Debris from a 30 foot by 30 foot chunk of the ceiling fell during a performance by rock group Theory of a Deadman, injuring three people with what are being called non-life-threatening injuries.

The collapse happened around 10 pm, with venue staff evacuating First Avenue and the adjoining 7th Street Entry and Depot Tavern as a precautionary measure to protect patrons and employees. The cause of the collapse is under investigation.
