Singer Christina Perri had to get a restraining order to protect herself against "the creepiest dude ever." The singer tweeted about the issue after the news made her seem much more dramatic than she really was, thanks to the way it was presented.

Perri's tweet is below, setting the record straight.

The singer, who just released her new album 'Head or Heart,' was responding to TMZ's news item about the protective order. Their report claims Perri feared that an obsessed fan who had been stalking her all over the country has left her concerned that he may try and sexually assault her. She allegedly asked him to stay away for the past year, but he won't listen or relent.

TMZ's report says Perri got a restraining order against Scott Brannan since he posted things like "I just want to love you, that's all, physically most of all" on her YouTube page. He also reportedly made contact with her family and friends, sending emails and requesting a face-to-face with Brannan. They denied him, of course.

Now, Brannan must stay 100 yards away from Perri. A hearing is scheduled for later this month to further determine a course of action.

In light of that info, Perri's tweet expresses annoyance at TMZ for dramatizing the situation and taking creative liberties with language in a legal filing. She is worried about a fan that is encroaching on her and those closest to her so she got a restraining order. That's all.
