After the Thanksgiving feast a lot of people start decorating for Christmas. That's exactly what the staff did at the historic Glensheen mansion.

Not only do they offer tours year round, during the holiday season Glensheen gets festive. They put up 25 Christmas trees, lay roughly 500 feet of garland and have 25 elves on display throughout the estate.

If you tour the historic state during this time, make sure you stop by the Carriage House for free hot chocolate and a sample of shortbread that was made from Clara Congdon’s old recipe. For more information and tour schedule, click here.
