In the wake of the celebrity phone hacks that led to hundreds of private photos getting leaked on the Internet, former 'American Idol' contestant Clay Aiken doesn't seem to have much sympathy for them.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Aiken said, "Anybody who takes inappropriate pictures of themselves deserves exactly what they get."

Ouch!

But Aiken added that the blame doesn't lie entirely with the victims, which included stars such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton and Lea Michele. The 35-year-old singer believes the hackers shouldn't be able to get away with what they did.

“Of course whoever [stole and released the photos] should be hogtied,” he added.  “And it’s unfortunate that we don’t have Internet security right now or the laws in place to protect people from pirating that stuff.”

Aiken is currently running for Congress for the US House of Representatives in North Carolina's Second Congressional District.
