A group of Duluth community members have organized an event to bring everyone together to show support for local law enforcement officials.

The event is called "Duluth Supports Their Law Enforcement Officials" and will be held on August 25th at 7:20pm and go until August 27th at 10:30pm at the South Street Footbridge between 16th and 17th Avenue East.

The event is to help support local law enforcement officials and to show them they are appreciated for the sacrifices they make to keep our city and residents safe. Everyone is invited to come out for as many nights as they can and have some fun.

This event is not a protest, just a family friendly, safe event to have the community come together and show appreciation. People are encouraged to wear blue and bring candles, glow sticks, blue balloons or even a sign to show your support. If you want to show more support. you can (but don't have to):

  • Bring donations for food/beverages for the event.
  • Bring donations of gift cards to be given away to any on or off duty law enforcement officer who attends.
  • There's even some sponsorship of some positive recognition items in the works for the event such as a t-shirts, a billboard, yard signs, silicone bracelets, and more.

Sounds like a great community event, for more information, go to their Facebook event page.
