Another first round game is under way with the Denfeld Hunters trying to take down the Wrenshall Wrens to see who has the best high school team name.

Denfeld Hunters - After a few moves and a renaming process, the current building was built in 1926 and named after Robert E. Denfeld (superintendent of Duluth schools from 1885 to 1916). When it comes to the school name, it's dedicated to one of the greatest coaches the school ever had, Walt Hunting. Walt coached the football team and went 152-63-15 bringing home 14 city championships and 5 state championship. He also coached basketball, baseball, and golf. Legend has it fans would shout “Here comes Hunting’s Hunters!” and the name caught on.

Wrenshall Wrens - A smaller city located in Carlton County lies Wrenshall. B105's Cathy Kates graduated from the school where the team name is apart of the city. A wren is a small brown bird but don't let the size fool you, these birds will always fight their hardest to win games and show support within a small community.

Share with all your classmates and vote below on which school should move on to the next round and get that much closer to be crowned the best team name in the area. You can vote once per hour and voting closes on Sunday at noon. I may be a little bias, because I graduated as a Hunter. Make sure you show your school pride!

The Cinderella story starts now. The Wrens have upset the Hunters by 52% of the vote and moving forward in the tournament, becoming that much closer to being crowned the best high school team name in the Twin Ports.
