Crowds of people enjoying Downtown Duluth's 2013 Sidewalk Days had something beside hot deals, great food, and cool cars to enjoy Thursday. Dangling from ropes nine stories above Superior Street were a group of brave individuals rappelling down the side of the Sellwood Building for a good cause.

Duluth's Greater Downtown Council organized this unique fundraising opportunity in an effort to build funds for downtown development and revitalization. Dozens of individuals, including Duluth's mayor Don Ness, Townsquare Media's General Manager Merry Wallin, Northland's Newscenter's reporter and weekend anchor Zach Vavricka, and several brave individuals representing area businesses rappelled down the nine-story wall to Superior Street.

Below we have some of the sights and sounds from today's event; including photos of some of the rappellers working their way down the wall, and a video of our boss here at the radio station offering a video perspective of what it was like going "Over the Edge".
