School may be out for the summer, but Drake is headed back to class, Variety reports today (July 30). The former Degrassi star will serve as executive producer for a forthcoming high school drama television show on HBO titled Euphoria.

The show is based on a 2012 Israeli series of the same name, described in March by HBO executive Francesca Orsi as "Kids meets Trainspotting, and what might exist when parents don't exist."

The job will earn Drizzy his first television producer credit. Aubrey last served as an executive producer for the 2017 Vince Carter documentary The Carter Effect. His manager Future the Prince is also joining Euphoria in an executive producer role.

The series, written and directed by Sam Levinson, will star Zendaya in the lead role of Rue. You may recall the Disney Channel alumna from her controversial casting as Aaliyah in Lifetime's 2014 film about the singer, a role she ultimately declined.

The news of Drake's next industry crossover comes amid his continued dominance of the music universe. His new album Scorpion currently sits atop the Billboard 200 for the forth consecutive week after breaking a slew of streaming records.
