School is out! Avoid hearing "I'm bored" from your kids by taking advantage of some awesome free activities the City of Duluth Parks and Recreation Department is offering this summer!

Bayfront Park Family Activities

Bayfront Park is a beautiful place along the harbor shoreline for great activities like concerts and festivals, but it is also a fun place to head with the family or friends to simply enjoy the nice weather or burn off some excess energy.

Take a walk around the park, enjoy the playground, or use some of the free equipment including stuff for kickball, volleyball, croquet, frisbee golf, and even flying a kite. The Bayfront Family center is open Monday-Thursday 11am-7pm.

Turf Time at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center

It does rain or get too hot to play outside from time to time in the Twin Ports. Why sit inside and watch it rain when you can take advantage of the indoor facilities at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center? A number of community groups including UMD athletes and Parks & Rec staff organize a series of sports and activities inside through the summer for children ages 7-17. The summer activities run Thursdays 1pm-3pm between June 21-August 23.

Summer Skating at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center

It may be warm outside, but that doesn't mean you can't do a little skating inside! Skating sessions are held from 1:30pm-3:00pm between June 13 and August 29 at the Duluth Heritage Sports Center. This is free and open to all ages interested in pleasure skating. If you're interested, it is advised you contact Pamela at (218) 730-4322 for details.
