The time has come again for hundreds of brave souls to take a dip in Lake Superior to raise funds for Special Olympics of Minnesota, so are you in?

I have been fortunate enough to be involved in the Duluth Polar Bear Plunge for many years and have even jumped in a handful of times. But I have passed the torch to my younger co-worker and daredevil Ian. Yes, he has a team and everyone is welcome to come on board. If you have never plunged before I am telling you it is truly a badge of honor to jump in Lake Superior this time of year.

All funds raised from the Plunge go to Special Olympics of Minnesota and we have a few athletes that participate every year. It is so much fun and the party lasts all day long. Plus you have a chance to win some awesome prizes.

The actual plunge starts at 2pm on Saturday with a shuttle bus from Grandmas Sports Garden that takes you to and from the plunge site. At the site they have giant heated changing tents, then head back to Grandmas for more fun.

Preregistration for the plunge is Friday February 17th at Grandmas Sports Garden from 5-7pm and Saturday from 11:30-2pm. Costumes are encouraged to make the Plunge more exciting and you could win prizes as well. For more information and to get signed up Click Here!
