Two local teens from Denfeld High School set out on a bike ride to Maine and back from Duluth, to promote youth fitness on their tandem bike. But an unobservant driver changed the plan just a little bit.

The last 2 weeks Cooper and I have been checking in with Parker Adams and Zach Spehar who's journey started on June 17th. The guys along with YMCA of Duluth want their mission to instill fitness in kids and the YMCA Strong kids campaign.

The boys were making great progress on the ride until this past weekend when they were hit by a car destroying the bike and Parker ended up with a separated shoulder. The actual ride is off, but they both have vowed to continue the journey via car and hike where they can vs. bike power. The mission remains the same.

Bravo to this two extraordinary young men, who took this massive challenge upon themselves and have shown that if you are determined enough anything is possible, amazing role models indeed. To follow the Bike Potatoes or now Hike Potatoes click here!
