A September 11 Ceremony will be held this year at the Statue of Liberty replica located on the South side of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, September 11th.

Members of three color guards will be present including the Duluth Honor Guard, Police and Fire Department.

Prayers, song and a Moment of Silence will be observed along with a rifle salute and taps.

This site was chosen because of the Statue of Liberty’s significance to New York and as a national symbol of freedom. This tribute is a solemn reminder of the lives lost on that tragic day but also a reminder of the courage and bravery exemplified by emergency responders, volunteers, and our military service personnel.

“We appreciate the work of the Northland Veterans Services Committee who helped organize this important event. I encourage residents to participate and take time to honor and remember our fallen heroes,” said Mayor Don Ness.

The event is organized by the Northland Veterans Services Committee and the City of Duluth.
