According to The Superior Telegram a Duluth woman obviously did not think things through when she went to appear in court back in November 2017 in Douglas County. According to the criminal complaint Superior Police Officer Justin McIntosh was waiting outside one of the courtrooms when he saw 32 year old Jara Serene Burkhamer walk over to an attorney. The officer then observed a plastic bag fall to the ground near her leg. An Assistant District Attorney also witnessed the bag fall to the ground as Burkhamer walked away from the courtroom. The bag contained a light brown powdery substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and she was arrested.

On March 21st 2018 Burkhamer plead no contest to possession of  methamphetamine in Douglas County Court. She will spend 31 days in jail and will be on probation for the nest 2 years. It really makes you stop and wonder what people are thinking sometimes when you hear stories like this? But if you watch any random episode of "Cops" some of the stories you see and hear definitely make you shake your head in disbelief.
