It's like Christmas in June for a reader like myself.  Even though I've run out of room on my bookshelves, and my husband bought me a Kindle to help cut down on my book clutter, I've just returned from the Duluth Public Library with bags full of books!Today marks the kick-off of the Friends of the Duluth Public Library's 2013 annual used book sale. The first day of the sale (today) is for Friends members only but anyone may join the Friends today by paying the membership dues ($10 annually for an individual) at the table in the Michigan Street Lobby.  It opens to the public tomorrow and runs through Friday.

The book sale is held at the Main Library in Downtown Duluth and features thousands of books from general fiction and non-fiction to children's books, books on CD and much more...all at bargain prices! Build your own home library and contribute to a good cause at the same time. The 2012 sale raised more than $24,000! All proceeds from the sale go to support the Duluth Public Library, to help them purchase resources and offer programs to the community.

The Book Sale is the Friends' major fundraising activity.
