Eminem has released the music video for his new single 'Headlights' and the timing of the debut isn't coincidental, as given that today is Mother's Day, the song is a deeply personal message of apology to Eminem's own mother, Debbie Mathers.

Eminem has stated in interviews that he wrote the song as an apology to his real-life mother whom he constantly criticized in the lyrics of many of his previous songs and also blamed for a lot of his problems. In the song, Eminem references several harsh memories, including being kicked out of the house on Christmas Eve, seeing his young brother taken away to foster care and comparing the household to an atomic bomb. But he pleads for a better life for the both of them, apologizing for the lyrics in 'Cleaning Out My Closet' and saying that he hates that they're still estranged.

'Headlights' features Eminem and fun. singer Nate Ruess and is the fifth single off 'The Marshall Mathers LP 2.'  The music video is directed by Spike Lee and was shot in Eminem's hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
