Emma Watson might be in a spot of legal trouble in the U.K.!

The former ‘Harry Potter’ actress is being investigated over a claim that she illegally employed an American while in England. According to the Independent, Emma brought her New York-based housekeeper along to her native country, where the maid also worked at the star's London home. She allegedly entered the country on a tourist visa, which prohibits visitors from working in the U.K.

The Border Agency opened the case after receiving a complaint that the housekeeper was being paid while working abroad. She reportedly spent around three months in Britain between September 2013 and February 2014.

If Emma is found guilty of the claim, she faces a fine of up to £10,000 (over $17,000).

The 24-year-old actress had been living in the U.S. while pursuing a degree in English Literature at Brown University, but has moved back to London since her graduation in May.

Emma has not yet released a statement on the immigration claim.
