It would be quite a tall order to pick the top 100 best albums of all time, but the editors at Entertainment Weekly were up for the challenge.

Prince landed in the number #2 spot with his soundtrack to the movie Purple Rain. I don't even know where to start with this one. When I lived in Minneapolis I was obsessed with Prince, now this was long after the movie came out, but he was still a huge player in the music industry.

This album exposed so many people to his music and to date was the most mainstream and commercially successful. His character in the movie was most likely a small look into his secret world, but undoubtedly showed off his musical brilliance.
