A-bombs, barn finds, basket cases, flamethrowers, frame-off restoration, rat rods, muscle cars and trailer queens. It's classic car talk and more to be seen and heard at the upcoming May 5 Dennis Godfrey Memorial Car Show at Lake Superior College.

Celebrated in memoriam to the late LSC auto instructor Dennis Godfrey, the 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. car show is free and open to the public. It includes a swap meet, door prizes, and live music. This year’s show features a pipe rapping contest at 3 p.m. Trophies will be awarded in up to 25 different classes, including motorcycles.

To participate in the show, vehicle registration is $10. Swap meet spots are available for $5. Vehicle registration will begin at 10 a.m. with judging at 1 p.m. and trophies to be presented at 3:45 p.m. The event will be held in the lower west parking lot of the college’s 2101 Trinity Road campus.

To reserve a $5 swap meet spot or for more information, contact LSC faculty member Mitch Connor at m.connor@lsc.edu or 218-733-7662. All proceeds raised from the car show will support the Automotive Service Club.
