The Wanted performed at MTV’s Spring Break 2012 concert on Thursday, causing so much fan-demonium during their last song that production had to shut down the stage for 25 minutes.

Calling it “the most unreal experience” of their lives, the British boy band couldn’t believe how enthused their fans were. They wrote on Twitter, “Laughing about how the girls rushed the stage during our last song & shut down the stage for 25 mins.”

The pop stars tweeted several times from the event, giving fans a look at the packed stage area and bright-colored sets. They added, “Hands down one of the most unreal experiences in our lives. #MTVSpringBreak2012 we will never forget it.”

This year, MTV brought Spring Break back to Las Vegas for three days between March 20 – 22. The network returned to the Palms Casino Resort for more sunny shenanigans and scantily-clad music lovers. The Wanted were not the only artists to perform — B.o.B, Young Jeezy, Dev, Big Sean and more were on hand for the festivities.

The Wanted’s debut EP will be released in the U.S. in standard and deluxe form on April 24. Fans will be able to catch their Spring Break performance when MTV begins airing their coverage the week of April 2.
