Finland, like Minnesota and Wisconsin, experiences cold winters with quite a bit of snow. During those cold winter months, we do our best to enjoy the weather and even laugh in the face of extreme cold with events like the Polar Bear Plunge. The folks in Finland have another plunging and swimming cold weather event sure to give you a shiver.

Held on a patch of pristine snow, people gather every year in Finland for a snow swimming event where participants compete in a frigid race to the finish that mimics traditional water swimming competitions. Proper form for the event even includes a flip at the end of the "pool" before completing the lap.

Just how does someone swim through snow? Check the video out to see!
