Former KBJR morning news anchor Courtney Godfrey is staying positive after losing part of her leg in a boating accident.

In a social media post, Godfrey explains that on September 15th she was enjoying some time on a Minnesota lake when "the unthinkable happened."

According to the Star Tribune, "Godfrey and her husband, Ryan Novaczyk, were boating on Christmas Lake....when he made a sharp turn and she was thrown overboard. Her foot became entangled in the boat’s propeller."

Despite the accident, Godfrey is staying positive, "I may have lost part of my leg, but I will never lose my spirit. I plan on flourishing—no THRIVING—once recovery is over."

Godfrey left the Twin Ports in 2013 to go work in the Twin Cities, she currently works at FOX 9 and plans to keep reporting.
