It's been a pretty incredible year for the guys in fun., who kicked off 2012 with the smash hit 'We Are Young' and are closing it out with a hefty pile of Grammy nominations. Now, says band member Andrew Dost, the guys finally feel like they belong.

"You grow up watching the Grammys -- it's the ultimate benchmark for a musician to even be nominated, so we're very, very thrilled," Dost explained to Billboard following the news. Hearing that they were up for Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Best New Artist left the band feeling "like we finally belonged in this world, on this planet, and it felt very good."

"We're aware that 'We Are Young' had a very big year, but I don't think you can prepare yourself for that sort of thing," continued Dost. "The best new artist category was just so inspiring to even hear those names read off. It's very exciting to be in that kind of company."

Of course, even though the band's 'Some Nights' album is enjoying a fresh round of publicity now, the fans have been living with it since February -- and more than a few of them are starting to wonder when we'll see a new fun. record on the horizon.

"We want to start focusing our energies toward a new album, but at the same time, we're still so thoroughly wrapped up in 'Some Nights,'" cautioned Dost when asked about new music. "We're always talking about what the next album could sound like -- we never really stop with that sort of thing -- but we won't really get serious about that probably until next summer, or something. In the meantime, we're mostly focused on the tour, and putting everything we have into playing these songs."
