Gerber has recalled two of their organic baby food pouches due to a packaging defect that may cause spoilage during transportation and handling.

The two pouches you need to worry about are Pears, Carrots and Peas and the other is Carrots, Apples and Mangoes. If you happened to purchase these pouches, look for the best buy date. Pouches affected have best by dates July 12, 13, and 14 of 2016 on them. Also if you do have these pouches, contact the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 1-800-706-0556.

We used Gerbers for both our daughters (Zoey, 4 years and Belladora, 15 months), but never used the organic stuff. Gerber has been a trusted name in baby food for many years, it's unfortunate that this has happened, luckily it was only two pouches. There have been three consumer reports of temporary gastrointestinal symptoms but the FDA hasn't been able to confirm if the symptoms are related to the product. You find more details here.
