Get Your Kids Ready For Grandma’s Marathon Weekend With the “Whipper Snapper Races”

Even if you're not taking part in any of the Grandma's Marathon races this weekend, you can still get your kids involved.  Or maybe you are racing, and your littles are a little jealous.  Get the kids and get ready to kick off the 36th annual Grandma’s Marathon weekend with the Whipper Snapper Races for Kids! The registration for the Whipper Snapper Races starts at noon in Bayfront Festival Park with the races starting at 2pm.

All kids will receive an official race number, participation ribbon and goodie bag.  Just like the grown ups, but they don't have to run as far.

There is also another reason to get the kids down to Bayfront tomorrow. Some of their favorite mascots, including Wells Fargo Bank’s ‘Jack the Dog’, ‘Champ’ from UMD, the Coca Cola Polar Bear, ’Cariboo’ from Caribou Coffee, ‘Tiki Tom’ from The Edge, ‘Harley D. Huskie’ from the Duluth Huskies, ‘Sasquatch’ from Jack Links, ‘Andy the Armadillo’ from Texas Roadhouse and ‘Viktor’ from the Minnesota Vikings (SKOL!) will get the event started with their own race at 2 p.m.

And dads can look forward to a few of the Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders on hand for autographs and photos as well!
