Ashley Monroe, Love and Theft at Grandma's Marathon [PHOTOS]

Grandma's Marathon offered a fresh, new lineup of entertainment both nights of the 2014 festivities. Hitting the stage Friday night to kick off the weekend's entertainment was singer and songwriter Ashley Monroe, followed by hit-makers Love and Theft.

"Hippie Anne" of the Pistol Annies, Ashley Monroe opened the night offering a variety of songs from what she described as her "various personas". These "personas" include her own solo work, songs from the Pistol Annies, and pieces she has written for other artists. Ashley performed her latest singles "Like a Rose", "You Got Me" and "Weed Instead of Roses" as well as older work like "Satisfied". She added to the mix with a few Pistol Annies songs, and showcased hits she has written like "The Truth" (recorded by Jason Aldean) and "Heart Like Mine" (recorded by fellow Pistol Annie, Miranda Lambert).

Love and Theft took the stage with a rousing intro, opening with a medley of "She Gets Me" and Eminem's "Lose Yourself". The group performed a wide variety of their new songs like "Night That You'll Never Forget", "If You Ever Get Lonely", and "Runnin' Out of Air", and their early hits like "Angel Eyes" and their debut single "Runaway". As if the high-energy show filled with a blend their hits and cover songs wasn't enough to get the crowd amped up, Stephen Barker Liles spent some time working the crowd, taking selfies with fans on their cell phones through the show.
