Guitarits Adds Metal Edge to Pop Hits Like Aqua’s “Barbie Girl” and “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls [VIDEOS]

It was the spring of 1997 when the Danish-Norwegian dance-pop group Aqua unleashed the music phenomenon "Barbie Girl" on the world. Sure, you may have enjoyed jamming out to this track on your Discman, but one guitarist is attempting to take some of the guilt out of listening to some of pop music's guiltiest pleasures.

Spanish guitar player Victor de Andres has made a hobby of giving pop songs a rock edge by playing them on his electric guitar in videos on Youtube. Among them are gems like the one-hit wonder Aqua and their 16 year old single "Barbie Girl" as well as "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls (see below) and other songs from musicians like Madonna.
