The Minnesota Vikings are off to a good start winning their home/season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, a big part of that win is due to the excellent play of S Harrison Smith.

Smith was named the NFC Defensive Player Of The Week today for his performance in Sunday's game in which he recovered a fumble during a critical goal-line stand, he picked off QB Jimmy Garoppolo late in the 4th quarter, had eight tackles (seven solo), two tackles for loss, one sack, and one quarterback hurry. Whoa!!

This is Harrison's second NFC Defensive Player Of The Week award and the third season opener in a row that the Vikings have had NFC Player of the Week. Plus, this is the 15th time that a Viking has been named NFC Player of The Week under Coach Zimmer. SKOL
