The Minnesota Vikings signed a 5-year extension with Pro Bowl safety Harrison Smith.

Harrison Smith now becomes the highest-paid safety in the league, according to NFL.com, the deal is for five years and is worth $51.25 million with a $10 million signing bonus and $28.578 million in total guarantees.

In his first 4 seasons, the former Fighting Irish standouts totaled 402 tackles, 12 INTs, 5.5 sacks and he set the franchise record for INTs returned for TDs during the 2015 campaign when he housed a franchise best 4th-career TD on his 12th-career INT.
