Harry Styles Wins Injunction Ordering the Paparazzi to Stay Away
Harry Styles of One Direction has had his day in court against the paparazzi and he has won.
The press is no longer allowed to loiter around the pop star's home or follow him around. Take that, wily paps!
The 19-year-old member of One Direction was granted his wish to deter photographer's behavior by Mrs. Justice Nicola Davies, who ordered that the media must not be within 50 metres (164.042 feet) of Styles' home. The media cannot place him under surveillance or follow him via car or motorcycle.
And we're assuming they're not allowed to chase him down on bicycle, roller blades, unicycle, via elephant, in a rickshaw or on foot either.
Styles' attorney pointed out that this was strictly a move to protect the singer against the press and not his beloved Directioners.
Styles was not present in court, but his lawyer explained, "This is not a privacy injunction. Mr. Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has. Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photographer."
This injunction will last until Jan. 13 when another hearing will be held.
