It's the end of an era, after 108,000 miles the Hermantown Police Department is parking their final Crown Victoria police car, for good.

According to the HPD Facebook page, the department has transitioned 100% to the Ford Explorer which is an all-wheel drive model vs. the rear wheel drive Crown Victoria.

From 1997 through about 2010, the Ford "Crown Vic" Police Interceptor was the most common automobile used in law enforcement in the USA and Canada.
