UPDATE (6/13): A good chunk of the original Hey Arnold! cast will return for the two-hour Nickelodeon movie, now officially called Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie, according to Variety. The voices of Helga, Phoebe, Harold, Olga, Grandpa, Grandma, Stella, Eduardo, Ernie, Bob Patacki, Miriam, Big Patty and Stoop Kid will all remain the same for the production, set to premiere in 2017. The voice of Arnold, however, will be delivered by newcomer Mason Vale Cotton, and Benjamin “L’il P-Nut” Flores Jr. will voice Gerald.

"The voice cast is an essential piece to the Hey Arnold! universe and we’re excited for a new generation of fans to hear these characters in a new TV movie," Senior Vice President of content development Chris Viscardi said.

Helga Pataki is going to be pissed/elated.

Hey Arnold!, the Nickelodeon cartoon that followed a young city-dweller and his friends in and around P.S. 118, is returning as a TV movie, according to VarietyThe show originally ran from 1996 to 2004, and though no premiere date for the movie has been confirmed, the company says Arnold's revival could signal a new trend in which Nickelodeon continues to dig into its archives to secure jumping off points for new content.

"Kids who grew up on these characters are now of the age that they are having kids and families themselves," said Nickelodeon Group President of Content Development and Production Russell Hicks. "Our library has come to fruition and it’s time for it to start coming back to life."

Variety reports that the movie will pick up exactly where the series left off, and will delve more deeply into the story of Arnold's absent parents. In the show, the fourth-grader lived on the top floor of his grandparents' Sunset Arms boarding house, which was occupied by a con artist, a demolition specialist and a Mexican restaurant employee/aspiring country music singer, among others. Show creator Craig Bartlett said in a 1998 interview that the fictional city of Hillwood was a composite of a number of cities he loved including Seattle, Portland and Brooklyn.
