The Tall Ships Festival will bring in a shipload of people this weekend to the Twin Ports, and the hotels will be counting their shiploads of cash on Monday!

The festival is expected to draw in hundreds of thousands of people from the region, and the hotels are taking advantage of the influx of tourists and charging some outrageous prices for a room this weekend.

These prices and availabilities were as of noon on Tuesday, August 16th according to Expedia.com. The Park Point Marina Inn is asking $550 per night, The Inn on Lake Superior is $480 and even the Days Inn Duluth Lakewalk is going for $340. As a comparison, those hotels next weekend are $265, $270 and $208.

How about this, you could stay a night at the famous Knickerbocker Hotel in NYC, near Broadway and Times Square for $324 per night or the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel in Orlando for $189 per night.
