How Much Snow Did The Duluth / Superior Area Get Thanksgiving and Black Friday 2012?
While a few lake effect snowflakes continue to fall in the later hours of Black Friday 2012, snowfall totals are coming in from around the area. The snow, which made travel very difficult through much of Minnesota and Wisconsin Thanksgiving and Black Friday definitely added up in some portions of the region.
The National Weather Service is reporting preliminary snowfall totals anywhere between an inch or two, up to around a foot of snow in the greater Twin Ports region. Here’s how some of the totals break down:
Minnesota
- Two Harbors – 6 inches
- Duluth – 5.3 inches
- Wright – 4 inches
- Silver Bay – 3.5 inches
- Cloquet 2.2 inches
- Floodwood – 2 inches
- Lutsen – 1.8 inches
- Hinckley – 1.5 inches
Wisconsin
- Cornucopia – 12 inches
- Bayfield – 10.7 inches
- Poplar – 10.5 inches
- Madeline Island – 9 inches
- Ashland – 6.5 inches
- Superior – 3.5 inches
- Maple – 3 inches
