Opening up this weekend in '98 was the political comedy 'Bulworth' which Warren Beatty co-wrote, directed and starred in. The film was a about a delusional Senator running for re-election and trying to avoid an assassin that he hired for himself. The film got quite a bit of buzz for being controversial and was nominated for best original screenplay at 71st Academy Awards but lost to 'Shakespeare in Love'.

After nine seasons the last episode of 'Seinfeld' aired today in '98. Commercials were at $2 million for 30 seconds.

Rappers Pras, ODB, and singer Mya released 'Ghetto Superstar' off the 'Bulworth Soundtrack'. The song was produced by Wycleaf Jean, sampled from Kenny Rodgers and Dolly Parton's hit 'Islands in the Stream' and was certified platinum.
