I know many people who are still paying off student loans, it seems at times it will never get paid off, but Minnesota like 22 other states has some pretty stiff penalties If you don't.

Along with hurting your credit, in some states defaulting on your student loans could cost you your professional certification or even your Drivers license. Can you imagine this, losing your professional certification that you are most likely paying these loans back to begin with? For federal student loans the default deadline is 270 days, but their are options out there.

So before you decide to just blow off your student loans, look into options and rules for your individual state. Wisconsin is not on this list, but that does not mean you are free and clear. For more information click here
